Masala Chai Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes 18 - 20 Cookies, Approx. 30-40 mins
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp Spiced Tea Chai Masala Chai Powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)
- 1/4 cup milk (as needed)
Instructions:
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 175°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
-
Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, instant masala chai powder. Set aside.
-
Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
-
Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
-
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If the dough is too dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until the dough comes together.
-
Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
-
Shape the Cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Slightly flatten each cookie with the back of a spoon or your fingers.
-
Bake: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underdone, but they will set as they cool.
-
Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- Use dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips for a nice contrast with the spices.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of chocolate chips to your liking!
